This wreck has a powerful history—on April 11, 1991, a massive explosion destroyed the vessel, causing an oil spill and triggering one of the region’s worst environmental disasters. Over 30 years later, the site has transformed into a vibrant artificial reef, attracting divers from around the world.
During the expedition, the divers explored the ship’s massive steel structure, swam through the inner remains, and observed a thriving marine ecosystem. Shells, algae, and fish have turned the sunken vessel into a true sanctuary of underwater life. Hidden areas within the wreck still hold mysteries for skilled technical divers.
