The Buddy Phone® D2 uses Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology to deliver uncompromising speech clarity underwater. Unlike the standard Buddy Phone, the D2 is digitally controlled and offers advanced features such as a voice menu for adjusting volume, switching between Channel A and B, and continuous voice transmission mode.
Voice Menu:
When diving with the Buddy Phone D2, the voice system guides you through the settings. You will hear a message such as:
"Buddy Phone ON, frequency A (or B), channel one (or four), volume High (Medium, Low)", depending on your previous dive settings.
Adjusting the settings is easy and can be done underwater. To access the main menu, quickly press the Push-to-Talk (PTT) switch three times and hold the third press until you hear:
"Main Menu: Volume, Channel, Continuous Transmit."
Once the menu options are announced, simply press PTT to select the desired setting. The unit will make the selection and return to receive mode. If no selection is made after the menu repeats twice, the Buddy Phone D2 automatically returns to receive mode.
Note: The continuous transmit mode allows for hands-free communication, which is especially useful for filmmakers and scientists who frequently speak on camera.
